It was January 2022 when the undersea eruption spewed an estimated 40 Trillion gallons of water vapor into the upper atmosphere, and the effects could last for several years.
from Chris Morrison, writing for the daily sceptic, 2/8/25 - regarding a new study:
“The scientists directly link a dramatic cooling in the upper atmosphere of between 0.5-2°C to Hunga Tonga. It is generally held that there is an anti-correlation between the lower and upper atmosphere and cooling at the top produces warming at the bottom due to a number of complex atmospheric processes…This is dramatic stuff. It appears to promote Hunga Tonga as the prime cause in explaining the recent spike in temperatures.” (emphasis mine)
I wrote about Hunga Tonga in August ‘23 and Nov. 23.
But there’s another climate scientist who says the water vapor eruption causes global cooling. Professor Andrew Dessler of the Texas A&M University says all the water vapor thrown into the stratosphere is cooling the whole globe. Here’s a link to his study, if you can wade through it.
I’m no climate scientist, so I don’t know who’s right - the scientists who say Hunga Tonga’s effect is a period of global warming, or the ones who say it’s global cooling. But I did notice it was hotter than usual the last 2 summers.
If it’s true that the volcano has caused the recent unusual bump in warming the last couple years, then I’ll predict that after the effect has peaked, perhaps this year or at least in a year or two, it will be followed by at least a slight global cooling. So I’m on the record - we’ll see how it goes.
Added this comment 2/13/25 - It must seem like funny timing to write about global warming when we’re in an unusually cold winter - with record-breaking snow in Florida earlier and now in the midst of another cold snap - but as I said, I’m no climate scientist - although I don’t think they know what’s going on either, LOL.
When Mt St Helens erupted in 1980, a shipmate said, almost out of the blue, that this was the year to buy orange juice futures. The ash would cause enough cooling that Florida was likely to get a freeze, an that would send OJ sky high. Come January of 1981, I convinced the manager at the Ann Arbor Merrill Lynch office to allow me to buy one future, although I really did lack the financial strength to take such a risk. On a Friday I was about to make that purchase, but got nervous and decided to wait until Monday. Sure enough, Sunday saw a freeze in Florida, and OJ futures went up their limit in seconds after markets opened, closing trading for the day. That continued for at least that entire week, and I missed making enough on one buy/sell transaction to have paid for my MBA. I did learn something, though: natural events can and do affect the weather. (In this case, one volcano's eruption chilled the planet.)
Well sounds like you have your mind made up and merely skimmed the top page. I also suggested looking up "Reinette Senum" on here. Contrary to your beliefs. She's actually taken local samples to a lab and had them tested. The samples were from "local ponds, lakes, soil samples and hair samples from local folks" All tested positive for "Micro-Aluminum particles, and chemicals that I can't pronounce" Funny how many people for years have purchased Aluminum free products due to the health risks that Aluminum and other chemicals pose to the human body.
She's also video documented some strange substance found on her porch in the morning. Oddly enough it's also been documented across the US.
Also video documented some really strange "mosquitoes" that when squished have a white substance and NO blood in them.
And yes, the SOS organization works from alot of public funding. They have staff, scientists, and lawyers they retain.
I see in your bio "finance & investing" are you a consultant of sorts? 🤔
