Yes and no. I got the idea from some magazine - maybe it was mother Earth News. Then I made it from my design, but probably subconsciously remembering what I had previously read about.

southern Ontario is trying to isolate them from regional lakes after they have already gotten into several large natural ponds and swamps from consumer release into back yard creeks..
I don't see how. I made that pond by digging the hole, lining it with pond liner. It's filled by the overflow of rainwater from my cistern. The overflow runs down into the woods.
Thought, time and effort put to good use. Our neighbor's tall fir trees are a natural "air-conditioner" in the summer, but unfortunately it also works in the winter the same way.

i don't really care. i like gold fish. i was only sharing information i saw on a news segment from the weather station in ontario
