Those dinosaur turbines give all wind turbines a bad name. It is not necessary to make turbine blades accessible to birds. Seraph Power is working on a vertical-axis wind turbine in which the revolving-door style of turbine is enclosed. Also, energy sources should be cost-effective. Read: profitable without huge cash infusions from sugar-daddy taxpayer-funded subsidies.
Your Seraph Power vertical axis wind turbines sound like a good idea - here's hoping you can commercialize them soon, scale up, and be a great success - without subsidies - now there's a novel idea!
Seriously, one of the worst ideas ever invented for at scale alternative energy. Ocean Power Technology, Inc. is right there too. Messing with the oceans' ecosystem.
Didn't I mention it to you that SunHydrogen Inc.; a solar panel that has built-in electrolysis PV cells? That company is on the brink of generating H2OO (H2O2) at scale. I have a link to the website on my Substack publication.
Thanks for the heads up. Sun Hydrogen might have something - I'll watch to see if they become successful. I like their idea of local distribution of H2. I can't tell at this point if their process will be economical - too new; not enough info. But I do hope they become winners.
Of all the nonsense proposed to supply “green energy”, offshore wind is the worst. Or so I thought. Hydrogen is even worse. Multiple conversion inefficiencies yield a total disaster in terms of overall energy efficiency.
Breaking the triple bond of N2 to form amine (NH2) fertilizer takes a lot of energy and sophisticated processing. Without that fertilizer almost half the human race would starve. The idiot that ran Sri Lanka outlawed chemical fertilizers and ran for his life after the suffering his people endured.

Yes. A certain amount of hydrogen is needed for production of ammonia for fertilizer, but it's not cheap so should not be used for a fuel.
